Cultivation & Tillage Information Evening - Wednesday 18th March

We are looking forward to hosting a Cultivation and Tillage Information Evening on Wednesday 18th March 2020 at Gowdys at Down Royal racecourse in conjunction with Pottinger.

The evening will start at 7pm with various guest speakers talking on a range of topics ranging from cover crop research in Northern Ireland to making the best use of Topcon GPS technology for auto steering and rate and section control. We will also have representatives from Pottinger Ireland who will talk about the latest seed drill and tillage machinery available from Pottinger. A buffet supper will be provided.

Pottinger have long been known as a market leader in providing high quality grassland machinery such as silage wagons, rakes, tedders and mowers however in recent years, the company has become increasingly focused on tillage equipment, having invested heavily in developing new tillage, seed-bed preparation and seed drill products.

As the Pottinger dealer for Co. Down and Co. Armagh we have been delighted to increase Pottinger's market share in the tillage sector, with the Aerosem 3002 ADD double disc coulter air drill and Lion power harrow combination becoming an increasingly popular machine for local farmers and contractors. These machines will be on display on the night along with a 3m mounted Terradisc disc harrow.

We would like to welcome everyone to this event and look forward to seeing you there!

Testimonials

  • POTTINGER EUROPROFI COMBILINE

We upgraded our old Pottinger Europrofi 3 to a new Europrofi 5010 Combiline. We have noticed a significantly shorter chop length with the new wagon, thanks to the new 39 blade knife bank. This has led to making better quality silage. We run a Pottinger Torro 5100 as well and with the two wagons working together, we can put in a lot of silage in a day. We have found that the wagons are relatively maintenance free and any tines, bands or blades required are in stock in Porters.

    - JOHN KEOWN, ANNALONG.
  • MULTIONE COMPACT LOADERS

We raise ironwork on roads ahead of surfacing crews and recently invested in a MultiOne loader in order to speed up our work. The MultiOne is used for gathering up the piles of rubbish generated from breaking out and loading it onto a lorry and also placing tar to ramp off around the new raised ironwork. This is a lot faster than using a tracked mini digger and has allowed us to increase our output each day and still be off the road in time. The machine is very user friendly and versatile and we have been delighted with its performance.

  • HUSTLER SL 360 X BALE FEEDER

We feed around 900 bales per year and would not be without the Hustler. Feeding that used to take an hour and a half can now be done in ten minutes and my back is spared now that I have no graping to do! Previously we were putting out more bales to save having to grape as much which meant that some of the bale was being lost whereas we now have no wastage. The Hustler is by far the most robust machine available and my only regret is that we didn’t purchase sooner.

    - ANDREW GREER, RATHFRILAND
  • BOBMAN FL

I bought the Bobman FL with the disinfectant box with the main purpose of saving me time each day by having a machine to do four jobs in one. We have around 180 cubicles and I have found that the time spent bedding has now been reduced from one hour each day to fourteen minutes! This includes brushing, scraping, applying sawdust and lime which I do all on the one pass...

    - ALFRED HARTLEY, MONEYMORE.
  • POTTINGER AEROSEM SEED DRILLS

This was our first Pottinger one pass system having previously used Accord and Lemken systems. We decided on a Pottinger one pass due to the close proximity of the dealer, Porters, the excellent service from the Pottinger area manager and the unique features of the Pottinger drill which are easy to use and adjust. We have had the drill now for a few seasons and haven’t had any problems; the build quality of the machinery is very good along with the paint work.
